Billy Ballew, owner of Billy Ballew Motorsports, is pleased to announce Kyle Busch will return to drive the No. 15 ditech.com Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Wednesday night. Busch competed in the Billy Ballew Motorsports-entry three times earlier this year and produced amazing results. Busch and the Richie Wauters-led team racked up two victories, a second place finish and a Bud Pole Award.
“We’re happy to have Kyle and ditech.com back with us,” said Ballew. “We enjoy working with Kyle and he is certainly an outstanding driver behind the wheel. He has done a tremendous job for us this year already, and I hope we are able to capture another victory at Bristol.”
“I’ll be looking forward to getting back into the 15 truck,” Busch said. “It’s been fun this year, as well as a great learning tool. We’ve won two races together and finished second in the third race, but the biggest deal has been the experience that I have been able to get by running on the race tracks that I have this year. Billy Ballew and Richie Wauters have been great to work with and they just want to do well. We try to learn what we can with the truck so then we can apply that knowledge to the Busch, and Cup cars.”
Busch returns to the No. 15 ditech.com Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway, a half-mile concrete oval. The win at Dover was also on the concrete and Busch hopes the experience there, as well as his previous races at Bristol in the NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup Series, will pay off. The team also has great statistics at Bristol, as they picked up second place honors in 2004’s event.
“Getting into Bristol, I have run well there but I have a lot to learn about the race track,” said Busch. “It’s a track like Dover where we won, you can never stop learning something about it. It’s always a tough place on drivers and equipment, but we just need to make the most of it.”
Busch’s consecutive victories at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in May and Dover International Speedway in June catapulted the Billy Ballew Motorsports team to their top-10 ranking in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owners Points Standings, where they have remained and currently sit seventh in the standings. This continues to be an outstanding feat, despite the fact the team has had seven different drivers this year and for the most part, remained unsponsored.
“ditech.com is returning for Bristol, and it’s great to have their support on the truck,” continues Busch. “They have been very good to Hendrick Motorsports and to me personally, and I look forward to getting them back to victory lane again. They deserve anything that we can give them plus that much more.”
“I have to thank ditech.com for coming on board with us for Bristol with Kyle,” said Ballew. “I also appreciate the support of Hendrick Motorsports and Dale Earnhardt Inc. with their help on our motor program. I also want to thank John Andretti for working with us the last few races. He’s a great driver, and we’ve enjoyed having him with us. We appreciate his determination and drive to help us.”
The O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 gets underway at 9:15 ET from Bristol Motor Speedway. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel and MRN Radio.
