Busch Looks to End Season with Billy Ballew Motorsports on a High Note

They’re bringing their best truck to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the running of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event on Friday night. And if all goes well, Kyle Busch and Billy Ballew Motorsports will end their season in victory lane, a place they have already visited three times together this year. Billy Ballew Motorsports is also aiming to complete the season in the top-five in owners points despite the team’s utilization of eight different drivers this year. The team currently sits in fifth place, 43 points out of third position.
Heading into Homestead, Ballew reflects on an awesome season the No. 15 team has had in 2005. “I’m so proud of these guys,” said Ballew. “They work so hard to make these trucks run the best they can. This is the best year I’ve had by far in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and it couldn’t have happened without my team and the drivers I’ve placed in the seat of the No. 15 Silverado. We’re looking forward to Homestead, and with Kyle as our driver once again, we know we have another shot at victory.”
Busch completes the season behind the wheel of the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations Chevrolet. In 2005, Busch has driven the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports-entry in 10 previous events capturing three victories, one Bud Pole, eight top-10 starts and eight top-10 finishes. Should Busch win at Homestead, he will tie his brother Kurt with four victories in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in one season. Busch’s previous run at the track was in the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series, where he started fifth and finished third.
“The truck series race in Homestead will be different than any other race we have run there,” said Busch, who recently won his second career NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event. “We tested the Cup car there a few weeks ago and the track itself is so smooth that you can run a bunch of different things to make the truck or car run lower to the ground. I can’t wait to run the truck there because it’s a track that I tend to favor. It’s got high banks and is really fast so we hope to end the season with a good finish in the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations Chevrolet.”
The Ford 200 gets underway at 8:15 p.m. EST from Homestead-Miami Speedway. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel and MRN Radio.
