Krisiloff Takes First Top-20 Finish at California Speedway
February 28, 2006Kyle Krisiloff completed the Racetickets.com 200 in 19th place Friday night at California Speedway. Driving the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations Chevrolet from the 25th starting position, Krisiloff and the Billy Ballew Motorsports team collected their first top-20 finish of the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. The finish allowed Krisiloff and the team to move up seven spots in points after a somewhat disappointing start to the season at Daytona International Speedway.
“We had a pretty good day,” said Krisiloff following the race. “We had a good handling Chevy Silverado and I know we could’ve had a top-10 finish. We were racing trucks side by side and I got a little loose. I lost a bunch of spots and wasn’t able to get those positions back.”
Krisiloff qualified the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations Chevrolet in the 25th position during time trials. Krisiloff complained of a loose condition during his qualifying laps. But since the trucks were impounded following qualifying, Krisiloff and the Richie Wauters-led team knew the truck would come to during the race. (more…)
Kyle Krisiloff, Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 15 California Preview
February 22, 2006- 2006 is Kyle Krisiloff’s first full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as he attempts to achieve the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award against no less than 10 other competitors.
- Krisiloff is the youngest competitor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the age of 19; Krisiloff will turn 20 on March 3. Krisiloff battles with competitors more than twice his age and with as many years of experience.
- Krisiloff makes his California Speedway debut this weekend. Like most of the tracks on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit, Krisiloff will see the facility for the first time when he rolls out for the first practice session.
- Krisiloff plans to bounce back from his disappointing 28th place finish at Daytona International Speedway last weekend. After running in the top-10 for the first half of the race, a couple incidents in the last half took the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations/Krud Kutter Chevrolet out of contention.
- 2006 marks the fifth full-season effort by Billy Ballew Motorsports. Over the last two seasons, the team has achieved four wins, two Bud Pole Awards, 23 top-10 finishes and 12 top-five finishes. The team finished fifth in the 2005 NCTS Owners’ Points Standings with eight different drivers throughout the year.
Krisiloff’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Debut Ends a Few Laps Shy of Finish
February 21, 2006Kyle Krisiloff made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut on Friday night for the running of the GM FlexFuel 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Unfortunately, a top-10 run ended early after two separate incidents spoiled his chances for a good finish. Krisiloff and the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations/Krud Kutter Chevrolet finished in the 28th position after having to retire the Billy Ballew Motorsports-entry two laps shy of the finish.
“Our goal was to finish,” said Krisiloff, the youngest of the series’ competitors at the age of 19. “We almost made it; just a matter of circumstances put us in an undesirable situation. We were running in the top-10 for the majority of the race then got caught up in an incident. We slowed down, but someone behind us didn’t and we got spun out. After that, it was a rookie mistake on my part that put us a lap down. The accident caused something to happen to the truck though. You don’t go from perfect to falling that far back. On the final restart, the truck in front of me had transmission troubles and didn’t take off. The No. 33 (Ron Hornaday) couldn’t get stopped in time and ran into us. We’ll bounce back. We travel to California next week, a track I favor, so I look forward to getting the No. 15 ditech.com/National Land Liquidations/Krud Kutter Chevrolet back up front for a top-10 finish.” (more…)
