  • 2006 is Kyle Krisiloff’s first full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as he attempts to achieve the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award against no less than 10 other competitors. He currently sits second in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings, 16 points behind leader Erik Darnell.
  • Krisiloff is the youngest competitor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the age of 20. Krisiloff battles with competitors more than twice his age and with as many years of experience.
  • Krisiloff makes his Martinsville Speedway debut this weekend. Like most of the tracks on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit, Krisiloff will see the facility for the first time when he rolls out for the first practice session.
  • Krisiloff continues to make strides by improving his career-best finish each race. In the last NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Krisiloff avoided a last-lap wreck and crossed the finish line in the 16th place.
  • 2006 marks the fifth full-season effort by Billy Ballew Motorsports. Over the last two seasons, the team has achieved four wins, two Bud Pole Awards, 23 top-10 finishes and 12 top-five finishes. The team finished fifth in the 2005 NCTS Owners’ Points Standings with eight different drivers throughout the year.

Kyle Krisiloff Quotes:

On Martinsville: “I’m looking forward to getting back to a short track. It’s been since October of last year when I competed at Memphis in the Busch car. We tested a Greenville-Pickens last week and got a lot done to the No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet. It really showed. The truck was good and we kept getting it better. This Billy Ballew Motorsports team is pretty prepared to go to the first short track of the season.”

On Short Tracks: “Now every track I go to on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit are all different and short tracks are a little new to me as well. I haven’t done a whole lot of racing on short tracks. I enjoy racing on them every chance I get though.”

On Sunday’s incident at Homestead involving cousin Ed Carpenter: “Sunday was a pretty tough day for my family and a lot of people I know in the series. I’m glad my cousin Ed is going to be alright. He’s pretty banged up and has a bruised lung, but he was released from the hospital and will be okay. It was an unfortunate deal for Paul Dana and my thoughts are obviously with his family. As racers, we know the dangers we face and we move on from incidents such as these.”

Quick Notes:

  • Billy Ballew Motorsports’ Average Starting Position at Martinsville is 13.5 with their Average Finishing Position being 17.7. Their best start came in 2005’s fall race with driver Kyle Busch. Busch and Rich Bickle are tied for having the best finish at Martinsville for Billy Ballew Motorsports with each recording a fifth place finish. Busch’s came in the fall race of 2005, while Bickle’s came in 1998’s only race for the NCTS.
  • Sponsors for the Billy Ballew Motorsports team this weekend include ditech.com, Krud Kutter, National Land Liquidations, B & G General Store and Alpharetta Self-Storage.
  • Billy Ballew Motorsports rolls out a new truck for this weekend’s event. They recently tested at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC to help get Krisiloff adjusted to the truck and competing on a short track.
