13He may be young but he’s not scared of monsters.  Twenty-year-old Kyle Krisiloff has intentions of facing the “monster” this Friday at Dover International Speedway for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ AAA Insurance 200.  Krisiloff will be heading to the “Monster Mile” for the first time, but has last year’s winner, Kyle Busch, as his teammate this weekend.

“I have never been to Dover so the first practice should be pretty exciting for the No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet,” Krisiloff said.  “I’m definitely going to ask Kyle Busch a few things about the place because it doesn’t seem to matter what kind of vehicle he’s racing, he gets around the place well.”

Asking Busch wouldn’t be a bad idea, as Busch is the defending winner of the race.  Busch piloted the No. 15 ditech.com Chevy for Billy Ballew Motorsports last year to victory and Krisiloff hopes to be in contention for the same result.

12Kyle Busch is back at it again.  Busch returns to the No. 51 National Land Liquidations/B & G General Store/Peavey Electronics Chevrolet for the AAA Insurance 200 at Dover International Speedway.  Competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the second time this season, Busch will defend his victory from 2005 at Dover, as he did two weeks ago at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, where he was victorious.

“I’m looking forward to racing the No. 51 Silverado for Billy Ballew Motorsports again this weekend in Dover,” said Busch. “The truck series rocks and I love going over there and having some fun. We won Dover last year and the “Monster” trophy is one of my favorites.”

With every member of his family focused on “The Great American Race” this weekend, Kyle Krisiloff heads a little further east to race in Mansfield, Ohio.

Krisiloff, grandson of Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner, Mari George, rarely misses a running of the Indianapolis 500. However, his own racing schedule has created a slight detour. Krisiloff plans to be in Mansfield, Ohio this weekend for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ “City of Mansfield 250” on Saturday afternoon.

“I hope to have the chance to attend the 500 on Sunday,” Krisiloff stated. “There are so many great memories there. How can you not want to be a race car driver after watching the Indy 500? I think many members of my family are planning on being at Mansfield though, so that will be nice to have them there even if I can’t make it to Indy on Sunday.”

Kyle Krisiloff drove his No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet from the 34th starting position to capture 17th place in the Quaker Steak & Lube 200 last Friday night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.  The finish was Krisiloff’s third top-20 finish of the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.  Krisiloff’s teammate for this race, Kyle Busch, was victorious, capturing Billy Ballew Motorsports’ first win of the year.

“I felt like we had a really good truck at Charlotte,” said Krisiloff following the race.  “I believe we could’ve run in the top-10 with our No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet if some things had gone our way.  Starting in the back wasn’t good and a few other mistakes were made, but overall we continue to get better each race.”

The 20-year-old Krisiloff had trouble qualifying, as did several other competitors, scraping the right side of the truck coming out of turn four.  He immediately brought the truck to the garage for the Billy Ballew Motorsports team to hustle to get the truck ready for the race, since the Quaker Steak & Lube 200 was in just a few hours. The crew had to beat the right side of the truck out and replace the decals. (more…)
