Krisiloff Hopes to Kick Off Nine-Week Stretch with Good Run at Lowe’s
May 17, 2006
Twenty-year-old Kyle Krisiloff hopes to kick off the nine-week stretch of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule this weekend at Lowe’s Motor Speedway by having a good run in the Quaker Steak and Lube 200. Krisiloff has good reason to be excited heading into this Friday night’s race, as his team, Billy Ballew Motorsports, is the defending champions of the race.
“I’m looking forward to racing at Lowe’s this weekend,” said Krisiloff. “It’s been a little aggravating racing then having a couple weeks off so it will be nice to get into a stretch where we’re racing every week. I haven’t competed at Lowe’s in a couple years but I like the track.”
Krisiloff’s last visit to Lowe’s Motor Speedway was back in 2004, when he competed in an ASA event. He ran in the top-five all day long and even led a few laps and hopes the experience will transfer to the No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet. The facility recently had a face-lift, as the track received a new paving job. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has yet to test on the new pavement, as they hit the track for the first time on Thursday for their optional test day.
“Lowe’s Motor Speedway is a totally different track than any other,” explains Krisiloff. “Of course, they have repaved it since I was last on it and honestly, kind of the reason I liked the track was the bumps so I hope they didn’t get rid of them all, but we’ll just have to see. We have the practice day on Thursday in which we’re taking two trucks to test and we’ll see which one I’m more comfortable driving.”
While the No. 15 Chevrolet visited victory lane in 2005’s event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Krisiloff just anticipates having a good finish to start the long stretch into the summer months.
“I’m looking forward to a good weekend in the No. 15 ditech.com/Krud Kutter Chevrolet and hope to build on a good run for the next few weeks.”
Prior to Friday night’s race, Krisiloff will pay a special visit to the Wal-Mart on Hwy. 29 in Concord, on behalf of his sponsor, Krud Kutter. Krisiloff will sign autographs from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Krud Kutter display.
The Quaker Steak & Lube 200 gets underway at 8:45 p.m. EST Friday night from the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The race will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio.
