Twenty-year-old Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender Kyle Krisiloff doesn’t have too many laps around most of the tracks on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit, but coming to Michigan International Speedway, that isn’t the case. In fact, Krisiloff won the pole for both ARCA events held at MIS last year and calls the two–mile oval his favorite track.

Krisiloff anxiously travels to the 10th race of the year, in hopes of having much of the same success as his trips to Michigan in 2005. “I’m really excited to go to Michigan (International Speedway),” said Krisiloff. “I won two poles there last year in ARCA competition and ran really well in both events. I absolutely love the place.”

krisiloff_cptexas106hsp_225In just his ninth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start, 20-year-old Kyle Krisiloff collected his fourth top-20 finish in the Sam’s Town 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night. Starting from the 34th position, the No. 15 ditech.com Chevy managed to wrestle their way up to the 19th spot by the end of the night.

“It was a long day for us,” said Krisiloff following the 167-lap race. “I struggled with being tight the entire race. We made a lot of good changes, but just couldn’t get the No. 15 ditech.com Silverado as good as we had it at Atlanta or Charlotte. Billy Ballew Motorsports has a good package to run better than we did. The trucks in our stable run well at places like this. The pit crew did a great job with no mistakes. We managed to get a top-20 finish and we’ll take that and move on to Michigan next week.”

1Kyle Busch’s mission when returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Billy Ballew Motorsports is to win each event. He found success at Lowe’s Motor Speedway a couple weeks ago and looked to repeat with another victory at Dover International Speedway this past Friday until a penalty for a missing hood pin cost him a chance at defending his Dover crown from a year ago. Busch rebounded from the penalty to work his way back up to 10th in the No. 51 National Land Liquidations/B & G General Store/Peavey Electronics Chevrolet by the conclusion of the AAA Insurance 200.

If practice was any indication, everyone knew the No. 51 Silverado with Busch behind the wheel was going to be one to beat. Busch was second behind David Reutimann by only two thousandths of a second on the practice sheet. For qualifying, Busch laid down a lap of 23.472 secs., lining him up in the third position.
