Kyle Busch returned to the seat of the No. 15 Bowen Family Homes/Manheim Central Fla. Auto Auction Chevrolet Silverado for Billy Ballew Motorsports Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway and placed sixth in the final running order of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ O’Reilly 200. Busch started in the seventh position, but quickly fell victim to a flat tire forcing the No. 15 entry to fight its way back up to the front.

Busch, who had driven for Billy Ballew Motorsports twice this season, picking up the victory at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, made his return to drive the No. 15 this time around. Busch had previously piloted BBM’s second entry, the No. 51, and hence dubbed himself as “Rowdy” Busch, after the “Days of Thunder” movie character Rowdy Burns who also drove the No. 51. (more…)

Billy Ballew, owner of Billy Ballew Motorsports, is pleased to announce Kyle “Rowdy” Busch will return to drive the No. 15 Bowen Family Homes/Manheim Central Fla. Auto Auction Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Wednesday night.  Busch has competed in a Billy Ballew Motorsports-entry two times earlier this year and produced amazing results.  Busch and the Richie Wauters-led team racked up a victory at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and another top-10 finish at Dover International Speedway.

“We’re happy to have Kyle and Bowen Family Homes/Manheim Central Fla. Auto Auction back with us,” said Ballew.  “We enjoy working with Kyle and he is certainly an outstanding driver behind the wheel.  He has done an awesome job for us this year already, and I hope we are able to capture another victory at Bristol.”

After piloting the No. 51 entry for BBM in his previous outings, Busch tagged himself “Rowdy” after the Days of Thunder character Rowdy Burns, who drove the No. 51 in the movie.  Although Busch will get behind the wheel of the No. 15 at Bristol, he plans to take his role as the “Rowdy” character one step further. Kevin Grubb was forced to park the No. 15 Alpharetta Self Storage/Krud Kutter Chevrolet early from the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at O’Reilly Raceway Park this past Friday night due to transmission troubles. Grubb lost fourth gear in his Silverado and had to settle for a 33rd place finish in the Power Stroke Diesel 200.

Grubb was able to qualify his No. 15 Alpharetta Self Storage/Krud Kutter Chevy in 15th position despite the fact he was in a back-up truck. His only laps on the machine prior to the start of the 200-lap event were his two laps of qualifying. “I had a little trouble during practice and scraped the wall,” Grubb explains. “The damage was enough for us to have to pull out the back-up truck. To be honest though, the back-up truck handled so much better during those two laps of qualifying than the primary truck did all during practice, so it might not have been a bad thing.” (more…)
