LESTER AND BALLEW GAINING WITH GOOD DAY AT KANSAS

Bill Lester and the Billy Ballew Motorsports team headed to the Kansas Speedway for the running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event hoping to improve their recent spell of bad luck.  Lester made some progress on accomplishing that goal, bringing the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports Gorilla Rack Chevrolet Silverado home in 16th position.

Rain loomed at the 1.5 mile tri-oval speedway Friday, canceling the second and final practice sessions for the NCTS drivers forcing the teams to qualify with several unknowns within their trucks and the race track.  Lester expressed concern that his truck was super loose during the qualifying run after posting a 32.887 second lap at a speed of 164.249 mph placing him a disappointing 31st on the starting grid. SUTTON’S RETURN HELPS MAKE HISTORY

‘Kelly Sutton Returns to the NCTS Series in the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports Silverado with Team COPAXONE® as Sponsor’

As Sutton prepares to re-enter the world of racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the first time in 13 events she will also be a part of history as she joins six other female drivers scheduled to compete at the Kansas Speedway April 27-29, 2007.

Erin Crocker, Lelani Munter and Gabi DiCarlo are slated to start the Kansas Speedway weekend’s events off in the Kansas Lottery 150 Grand ARCA RE/MAX Series race Friday, April 27th. Saturday, Sutton will compete in the No. 51 Team COPAXONE® (glatiramer acetate injection) Chevrolet Silverado NASCAR Craftsman Truck for the running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250. Danica Patrick, Sarah Fisher; and possibly Milka Duno will be on track for Sunday’s Kansas Lottery INDY 300 IRL race. (more…)

BALLEW BREAKING BOUNDARIES

Momentous milestones will be made in racing when Billy Ballew Motorsports takes to the track at the Kansas Speedway fielding two diversity drivers in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. This will mark the first time an African American and a female driver will compete on the same team.  Billy Ballew, an independent team owner, brings together veteran NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers Bill Lester and Kelly Sutton for the running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 at the Kansas Speedway Saturday, April 28, 2007.

Ballew fields the No. 15 Chevrolet Silverado team with Bill Lester who has piloted the truck since the season-opening race at Daytona.  In Kansas, Kelly Sutton will be behind the wheel of the No. 51 Team COPAXONE® (glatiramer acetate injection) Chevrolet Silverado.  Sutton will be making her first start since Nashville in 2006 and is scheduled for three additional Craftsman Truck Series races in Mansfield, Texas and Milwaukee with Ballew this season.
