Youth was served Saturday, October 27, in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway thanks to Kyle Busch. The 22-year-old became the season’s youngest winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the youngest winner since May 2006 when, the then-21-year-old Busch last went to Victory Lane at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Busch’s experience is greater than his 22 years and is actually younger then both the sons of the 2007 Craftsman Truck Series Championship Points contenders, Ron Hornaday and Mike Skinner.  Ronnie Hornaday is 28 with Jamie Skinner 29 – both former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitors.

Busch has won at least one race in all three elite series – the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, Busch Series and Craftsman Trucks from 2005-2007 extending his existing record to three consecutive years.  Only two other drivers have accomplished the feat of wins in every series in the same season, Terry Labonte (1995) and Kevin Harvick (2003). Busch also has the second most series wins by a fulltime NEXTEL Cup competitor: five. Mark Martin is the leader with seven.

Billy Ballew Motorsports also had a record set last week with Busch’s Victory in Atlanta.  Crew chief Richie Wauters joined Germain Racing’s Mike Hillman Jr. as winners in four consecutive seasons.  Dennis Connor holds the series record of six consecutive winning seasons (1996-2001) with Jack Sprague.

Although the records have been set, both Busch and the Billy Ballew Motorsports team are already focused on the Chevy Silverado 350K NCTS race, Friday, November 2 at the Texas Motor Speedway.  Busch has 13 starts at the 1.5-mile race track including five  NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, five Busch Series and three Craftsman Truck Series starts.  Busch has posted six top-five and seven top-10 finishes.  Busch has made two of his three Craftsman Trucks Series starts for Ballew who has 12 starts with two top-five finishes, (2nd 2004 Shane Hmiel, 4th 2005 Kyle Busch) and three top-10 finishes at the Fort Worth, Texas track.

“I’d like to turn right around and do it again in Texas,” Busch said.  “It felt good to be back in Victory Lane with Billy Ballew Motorsports.  We are a low budget operation and these guys deserve it.  We are bringing one of my two favorite trucks.  Richie (Wauters, crew chief) and I have to decide that but either truck gives us a decent shot at back to back wins.  I’m looking forward to running with JR (Norris) who is in the 15.  JR and I’ve raced some late model races together this year so I hope we can race around each other again in Texas.”

Flanders Beef Patties will once again adorn the No. 51 Silverado for the 146 laps, 219 miles on the 1.5-mile race track Saturday, November 2.  The race is slated to begin at  8:00 CT (9pm ET) and will be televised live on SPEED beginning at 7:30pm CT (8:30pm ET).  Live radio broadcast can be heard on MRN Radio, XM-Sattleite and all their affiliate stations.

JR Norris, developmental driver for Billy Ballew Motorsports, will make his career first start at the Texas Motor Speedway Friday, November 2, for the running of the Chevy Silverado 350K NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event.

Norris, the 2006 NASCAR Southeast Series Champion, made his career Craftsman Truck Series debut at the Gateway International Raceway September 1 starting in the 13 place position and posting a 16th place finish.  Friday, Norris will pilot the No. 15 Craftsman Truck in the 146 laps, 219 miles on the 1.5-mile race track in Fort Worth Texas. ‘Sieg Brings Georgia Owner and Sponsor 17 place finish at AMS’

Georgia native, Shane Sieg had a strong run in the No. 15 Terry Reid www.only78.com Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman Truck Saturday, October 27, in the running of the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Sieg brought home a 17th place finish in the 130 lap 200.2 mile race  after a disappointing qualifying run put him in the 30th place position on the starting grid.

Billy Ballew Motorsports breaks their winless streak after Kyle Busch pilots the No. 51 RedTop Auto Auction Chevrolet Silverado into victory lane at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday in the running of the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Saturday, October 27.

Busch brought home the second win for Georgia owner Billy Ballew at the Atlanta Motor Speedway; the first win came in 2005 on a last lap move.  The victory Saturday was not without its own excitement as the window net came unclipped forcing Busch to hold the net up and drive one handed in speeds over 180 miles per hour.
