Fontana Brings High Hopes for Ballew

After a great start to the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season in Daytona, Billy Ballew Motorsports looks towards another successful weekend as the series moves to the California Speedway.
Ballew fields two entries in the Craftsman Truck Series with Marc Mitchell in the No. 15. Mitchell scored a 13th place finish in his first start at the Daytona International Speedway. Ballew also fields the No. 51 Toyota Tundra that posted a dramatic second place finish at the World Center of Sports last Friday evening. (more…)

California Fast Facts:
· The San Bernardino County 250 will mark Mitchell’s first-ever start at California Speedway.
· Mitchell averages a 19th-place finish at tracks two miles in length or more (includes two seasons in ARCA and last week’s NCTS race).
· Mitchell finished in 13th-place last weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
· The No. 15 Ergon team is unloading Chassis No. 22 this weekend. Bill Lester qualified in 8th-place and finished in 18th-place at Texas Motor Speedway in 2007 using Chassis No. 22.
· The No.15 Ergon Hyprene Chevrolet will compete in 21 races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2008. Mitchell is competing for Rookie of The Year Honors. (more…)
Strong Performance in Season Opener for Ergon Race Team

It may have been his inaugural race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, but rookie Marc Mitchell handled 100 laps of restrictor plate mayhem like a veteran. The Tallahassee, Fla. native used a fine blend of patience and aggressiveness to pilot the No. 15 Ergon Chevrolet to a 13th place finish in the Chevy Silverado 250 at Daytona International Speedway. Breath Holding Battle for Busch and Ballew in Daytona
‘Busch Brings Home Best Finish for Ballew in his First NCTS Start at DIS’
In a breath holding 100 lap, 250 mile NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Friday, February 15 at the Daytona International Speedway, Kyle Busch brought home a second place finish missing the win by a mere .007 seconds.
Busch, in the No. 51 NOS Energy Drink Toyota Tundra, made his first start in a NCTS race at the prestigious 2.5-mile superspeedway for Billy Ballew Motorsports and posted a 21st place starting position for the race.
Shortly after the green flag dropped, Busch reported that the truck was not responding with the coil binding set-up causing it to be difficult to turn. Air pressure changes were to be made on the first pit stop and it came on lap 11 allowing the NOS Energy Drink team led by Richie Wauters to make the adjustments. (more…)
