Despite having NASCAR Sprint Cup series drivers Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin behind the wheel of his Toyota Tundra NASCAR Craftsman Trucks, team owner Billy Ballew came home short of a win Saturday in the running of the Kroger 250 race at the Martinsville Speedway.

Busch, the current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point’s leader, wanted those five extra bonus points for leading the race, traded the point spot with Hamlin. The two Sprint Cup Series teammates looked as if they were running tandem trading the point positions on the .546-mile short track. Both talented young drivers looked to be strong contenders for the win until disaster struck. Hamlin in the No. 15 and Busch in the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Tundra’s both spun in separate incidences. Hamlin was spun earlier in the event but maintained a lead lap spot and a 21st place finish. Busch spun coming to the checkered flag while running in third place and brought home a disappointing 28th place finish.
