Kyle Busch in the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra dominated the running of the AAA Insurance 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Dover International Speedway Friday, May 30, 2008. Busch led 96 laps including lap one after his start of third place in the 200 mile, 200 lap race at the “Monster Mile”. Busch looked to be the clear victor until a fitting on the transmission broke sending him into the pits for repair and home from the track with a 27th place finish.

Busch qualified third for the event and immediately took the point position by the time the trucks went past the start/finish line for the first circuit. Busch in his own zip code settled in to save his tires on the concrete track but had the speed to catch the rear of the field putting multiple race trucks a lap down. Busch reported being aero-tight and asked for air pressure and track bar adjustments on his pit stop on lap 51. The quick stop under caution kept Busch in the lead where he was until the truck began to smoke on lap 96. As the caution flag flew, Busch headed to the garage area to find out what was causing the heavy smoke fearing they had to replace the transmission during the event. The crew rushed into action and found that it was a fitting on the side of the transmission had broken causing the leak. The team made the necessary repairs to the truck sending him back out on the racetrack in 19 laps.
