Shane Sieg has a solid point’s day for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Toyota Tundra after the running of the Ohio 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Saturday, May 24.  Sieg’s 21st place finish kept the 2008 owners point’s championship lead for Ballew.

Sieg, substituting for NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch who regularly drives the No. 51 Toyota Tundra, placed the race truck in the 11th place position on the track for the 250 lap event on the .5 mile short track.

Sieg sliced through the field driving one of the best races of his driving career, diving into the corners to pass two trucks while being three-wide. This style of driving proved the belief the team had in Sieg and had resemblance to the driving style of mentor and Billy Ballew Motorsports teammate Busch.

Sieg looked to have a solid top-five finish but pit strategy did not pay off sending the team home with a 21st place finish.  According to the NASCAR Loop Statistics, Sieg posted four of the fastest laps in the race and was a top hard charger at the end of the race picking up six spots in the last 25 laps at the Mansfield, Ohio short track.

“We had great Tundra tonight,” Sieg said. “We just played out a pit strategy that didn’t pay off in track position for us but we were able to keep the owners points lead for Billy which was one of our goals. I have to thank Kyle (Busch), Richie (Wauters) and Billy Ballew for giving me the opportunity to drive this equipment. The truck was awesome all weekend. I’m looking forward to going to Dover and driving the No. 15 Toyota Tundra for this Billy Ballew Motorsports team.”

Team owner Billy Ballew leads the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owner Championship points by five points as the series heads to the Dover International Raceway. Kyle “Rowdy” Busch will return to the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts truck in Dover with Shane Sieg stepping into the No. 15 Toyota Tundra.

The AAA Insurance 200 (200 laps, 200 miles) NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event is scheduled to take place on the 1- mile Monster Mile Friday, May 30, at 5:00pm ET.
