Mitchell Gains Confidence Heading to Mansfield

· Marc Mitchell has never raced at Mansfield Motorsports Park prior to the Ohio 250.
· This event will mark Mitchell’s first short track race of the season. Denny Hamlin drove the Billy Ballew Motorsports #15 truck at Martinsville earlier this year.
· Mitchell will be driving BBM chassis No. 17 in the Ohio 250. Denny Hamlin drove this chassis at Martinsville and led 64 laps before he was involved in an accident.
· The #15 Ergon Hyprene Tundra will compete in 21 races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2008. Mitchell is competing for Rookie of The Year Honors. (more…)
Dominant Day for Busch and Ballew in Charlotte
May 17, 2008Kyle Busch had the dominant NASCAR Craftsman Truck at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway since the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra was unloaded from the hauler. Not only was Busch fastest in practice but put the Toyota Tundra on the pole with a time of 30.160 seconds at a speed of 179.045 mph. Busch was nearly three miles per hour faster than the second place position with their time of 176.904 miles per hour.
Busch lead 86 laps of the 138 lap race and looked to be the truck to beat until competitor and friend Ron Hornaday got loose underneath sending Busch into the outside wall. Despite heavy damage Busch managed to bring home an eighth place finish and the lead back in 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owners Championship points. (more…)
Ballew – Busch Dominant at Lowes
Kyle Busch had the dominant NASCAR Craftsman Truck at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway from the moment the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra was unloaded from the hauler. Not only was Busch fastest in practice but put the Toyota Tundra on the pole with a time of 30.160 seconds at a speed of 179.045 mph giving Toyota their 50th pole in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Busch’s time was nearly three miles per hour faster than the second place position with a time of 176.904 miles per hour.
From the start of the North Carolina Education Lottery 200, Busch took the lead and checked out on the rest of the field. He led 86 laps of the 138 lap race racking up top statistics in NASCAR Loop Statistical Data. Busch claimed the top driver rating for the event which is determined from a formula that combines the average running positions (4), most laps lead (62.3%), number of fastest laps under race conditions (36 of 98), average speed, number of laps in the top-15 (100%) and several other race factors.
Great Truck, Disappointing Results for Ergon Team
Marc Mitchell seemed to have a top-five finish in the bag in Friday night’s N.C. Education Lottery 200 at the 1.5-mile Lowe’s Motor Speedway located in Concord, North Carolina. Unfortunately, a vibration coming from the right-front tire dashed his hopes for a solid run. The culprit, a loose wheel, forced the Ergon Toyota to make an unscheduled pit stop on lap 82, which put Mitchell two laps down to the leaders. Although the team had one of the fastest trucks in the field, Mitchell didn’t have time to recover from the deficit and finished in 24th place. (more…)
