Ergon Racing and Billy Ballew Motorsports announced today that David Stremme will drive the No. 15 Ergon Hyprene Tundra for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at Nashville Superspeedway on August 9  and Bristol Motor Speedway on August 20.

Stremme driving the #15 Toyota is an opportunity for the veteran driver to advise Ergon Racing and the Billy Ballew Motorsports team ways to expedite their goals as well as mentor Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate Mitchell.

“I want what’s best for Ergon Racing and Billy Ballew Motorsports,” said Mitchell.  “I truly believe that we’re one of the best teams in the Truck Series garage, but we haven’t always had the results to show for it.  Our expectations are to finish in the top-10 and carry that momentum to top-fives and challenge for wins.

‘Busch buzzard hunts his way to the front at ORP’

Kyle Busch driving the No. 51 Miccosukee Resorts Toyota Tundra salvaged a top-10 finish after a difficult day at the O’Reilly Motorsports Park Friday, July 24, 2008. Despite handling issues Busch driving for the Billy Ballew Motorsports team managed to pick up the eighth place position in a neck and neck race at the start/finish line.

Busch commuted from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to practice and qualify the Billy Ballew Motorsports Craftsman Truck on the .0686-mile short track. The team worked on handling issues in practice and Busch place the truck in the 12th place position for the 200 lap race.

Mitchell Finishes 25th After Spin At ORP

After struggling in the early stages of the Power Stroke Diesel 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park, Marc Mitchell and the Ergon Racing team performed a hard fought comeback.  Despite going one lap down to the field in the beginning phases of the race, the #15 team battled their way back onto the lead lap and were primed for a top-10 finish.  Unfortunately, their progress was halted on lap 174, when the #81 truck lost control and spun out the Ergon Tundra.  The incident left Mitchell with a 25th place finish.

Mitchell started the race from the 19th position.  His Toyota Tundra was too tight in the early goings of the race and he began losing ground to the leaders.  The #15 truck was pushing up the track late into the turns and preventing Mitchell from getting back to the throttle.  On lap 84, while running in the 23rd position, the lead pack caught up to Mitchell and sent him one lap down to the field. Busch will start 12th in the Miccosukee Resorts Toyota Tundra with Billy Ballew Motorsports teammate Marc Mitchell in the No. 15 Ergon Tundra will start 19th.
