Shane Sieg piloting the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Craftsman Truck took to the track at the Nashville Superspeedway for the running of the Toyota Tundra 200 Friday, August 9th in the 14th place position.

Sieg fought with loose conditions in the two practice sessions on Thursday afternoon but felt the truck would tighten up as the race progressed. But unfortunately the adjustments were not working, confusing the veteran Craftsman Truck Series team.

With the handling the way it was on the truck Sieg was in the middle of the pack risking getting caught up in an incident with so many trucks fighting for position. On lap 44 of the 150 lap race, the No. 9 truck slowed to avoid an accident sending Sieg into the back of him causing grill damage to the Miccosukee Resort Tundra. The team pitted numerous times to fix the duct work to keep from overheating.

Despite all the difficulties Sieg held on for a 25th place finish. After the event the team discovered a problem with the rear-end differential that kept Sieg from a top finish in the 14th race of the 25 race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season.

“We really felt pretty confident at the beginning of the race,” Sieg said. “But I was fighting a loose getting into the corners but so tight all the way through. I had to hold on to it from spinning out. I couldn’t figure out why it was not getting any better with all the great calls my crew chief, Richie Wauters made. But after the race we found the problem. Disappointing but we’ll keep digging and try to get back up to the top in the owner points for Billy Ballew.”

Billy Ballew Motorsports sits in the fourth place position in 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Owners Points Championship.

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle “Rowdy” Busch will be back in the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort / NOS Energy Drink Toyota Tundra, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Bristol Motor Speedway.
