“This weekend will mark a lot of firsts for me. This will be the first time I’ve raced a truck, the first time I’ve raced at Homestead (Miami Speedway) and the first time I’ve worked with the Ergon Racing team. Hopefully I can leave this weekend and say I got my first win, too.
“The 15 team has great equipment and great people. If you look at their record, you know that they can get the job done. That gives me a lot of confidence going into this weekend. I’ve got a steep learning curve ahead, but if anybody can speed that up for me, it’s the Ergon team.
“We’re taking a brand new truck to the track. It’s built like chassis No. 11 that Kyle (Busch) likes so much. He’s won a bunch of races in that truck, so I know that I’m going to have good equipment under me. I’m not quite sure what to expect from the track. I’ve never raced anywhere like Homestead before. The best thing I can do is rely on my team, utilize the resources I’ve got and make the most of it.
“This is a great opportunity. I’m really excited about getting to race with these guys. We’ve got all the elements it takes to have a solid weekend. This will be the last race of the season, so I want to end the year on a good note for me and the team. Hopefully it will give us all some momentum going into the off-season.”
