Billy Ballew Motorsports crew chief Doug George was inducted into the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame Friday, July 3, 2009 at Irwindale Speedway in Southern California.

George is a native of Atwater, California and won the 1990 NASCAR Southwest Tour title, posting nine victories. He also won the 1995 NASCAR Camping World Series West Series title. George has two starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Sonoma and Phoenix, 1995) and 56 starts in the Camping World Truck Series Career before moving into a crew chief position. 

George has served as the crew chief for the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck since 2007.  In 2009, George moved over to the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort team posting two wins with Kyle Busch at the helm (Auto Club Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway.)

The 2009 four modern era (post 1970) Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame inductees are Rick Carelli, Doug George, Chuck Bown and Wayne Spears.  The 2009 Historic category (1930-1969) inductees include Ben Gregory, Joe and John Fernandez, Bert Letner, Chuck Meekins, Dick Rathman and Art Watts.

The West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame was founded in 2001 by Tim Meyer publisher of Racing News West to honor West Coast drivers, car owners, promoters and others who made stock car racing what it is today.

The NASCAR Camping World is off next week but will be back in action Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Kentucky Motor Speedway.
