Almirola Eighth in Vegas
September 28, 2009Aric Almirola in his 100th start in NASCAR’s Top-Three Premiere Touring Series posted an eighth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Saturday, September 26, 2009.
Almirola placed the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck in the 20th position for the running of the Las Vegas 350. Almirola didn’t stay in the position long, advancing to the 15th-place position by the first caution on lap three.
Almirola continued to advance through the field driving two and three-wide on the track moving into the eighth-place position by lap 12. He reported in that the right front tire was “pushing”; coming down pit road on lap 24 for four fresh Goodyear tires returning for fuel on lap 25, restarting in the seventh-place position on lap 26.
The air pressure adjustments on the stop wasn’t beneficial for Almirola as he reported that the truck was “tight on exit and free everywhere else on the track”. The Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals team brought him back down pit road on lap 51 for tires and fuel. Almirola filed out in the 14th position for the restart.
Almirola immediately began advancing through the field into the top-10 despite reporting that the truck was very “loose”. In spite of the condition Almirola was able to battle through the hornets’ nest of trucks around him.
A long green flag run forced green-flag pit stops, shuffling the field moving Almirola into the third-place position. The team made their green-flag pit stop on 117 for fuel and a track bar adjustment to tighten up the Tundra.
Just after the cycle of pit stops a caution fell on lap 119, Almirola returned to the pits to take on four tires filing out for the restart on lap 123 in the 10th-place position. Almirola reported that the truck was “plowing” with the new set of tires, but with only 23-laps remaining in the race the team knew they would not be returning to pit road. Almirola using talent and skill was able to pick up two positions, posting an eighth-place finish for the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals team.
Almirola has posted seven top-10 finishes for Billy Ballew Motorsports in 10 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races in 2009.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series takes a much needed break after a six race stretch and will return to action at Martinsville Speedway, Saturday, October 24, 2009.

Ickler 9th in Vegas
September 27, 2009Brian Ickler posted a ninth-place finish in his first start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway piloting the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra despite a spin in the event.
Ickler positioned the Billy Ballew Motorsports entry in the 17-place position for the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping Truck Series race Saturday, September 26, 2009.
On lap three of the 146-lap race another competitor spun clipping Ickler forcing him to come down pit road to check for damage. The Tundra had cosmetic damage and with the quick action of the pit crew Ickler was able to keep the Graceway Pharmaceuticals truck on the lead lap restarting in the 32nd-place position on lap seven.
Ickler was on a mission advancing though the field to the 19th-place position on lap 12. Ickler had reported that the Tundra was loose looking forward to the next caution for adjustments. But unfortunately the truck got out from Ickler, coming off turn-four of the 1.5-mile track spinning him across the front stretch grass.
The Billy Ballew Motorsports team moved into action and pitted several times fixing the damage to the Tundra. Due to pitting too early Ickler had to start at the tail end of the longest line for the restart on lap 28.
Ickler advanced to the 21st-place position by the caution on lap 33 and continued to roll through the field running wide open around the Las Vegas, Nevada track.
Caution fell on the track on lap 50 with Ickler coming down pit road on lap 51. Crew chief, Doug George called for fuel only with many of the other teams taking on four tires. The strategy worked advancing Ickler to the fifth-place position for the restart on lap 54.
A long green-flag run on the track forced green-flag pit stops with Ickler coming in on lap 113 for fuel. Caution fell on the track a few laps later while Ickler was running in the eighth-place position. The team took on two right side tires returning for the restart on lap 123 in the eighth-place position.
With just 23-laps remaining Ickler did what he could with the damaged race truck to keep the position but lost a spot to his teammate on lap 133 posting a ninth-place finish in the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is off until Saturday, October 24, 2009 where the Series returns to Martinsville Speedway.

“Is it AK or OK?”
September 26, 2009
‘Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC promotes National Public Education Awareness Program’
Billy Ballew Motorsports along with its sponsor Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC are promoting a national public education campaign to raise awareness of actinic keratosis (AK) (Ack-tin-ick Kare-uh-toh-siss) – a potential early warning sign of skin cancer – as well as the long-term consequences of accumulated sun damage.
It is estimated that about 10 million Americans have AK, a common pre-cancer that often develops on skin frequently exposed to the sun.
AK is a visible sign of sun damage caused by the accumulation of harmful rays under the skin. AKs are small, red, sometimes scaly or rough spots that can be found on skin most often exposed to the sun like the face, bald scalp, hands, shoulders and arms. Because you cannot predict whether an AK will develop into cancer, it is important to check any changes in your skin with a doctor.
The “Is it AK or OK?” design will be featured on the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra for the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.
For more information on AK please visit www.IsItAKorOK.com. ; “Is it AK or OK?” is sponsored by Graceway Pharmaceuticals, in partnership with the Skin Cancer Foundation.
Graceway Pharmaceuticals is the primary sponsor on the No. 15 and primary associate sponsor on the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries.
