Denny Hamlin piloting the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals Toyota Tundra posted a sixth-place finish in the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway, Saturday, October 24, 2009.

Hamlin placed the Billy Ballew Motorsports entry in the fourth-place position on the starting grid for the 200-lap race on .526-mile short track in Martinsville, Virginia.

Heavy rains in the area delayed the start of the Camping World Truck Series event but once the green-flag waved Hamlin was on a mission running three-wide into turn one to advance toward the point position.

Hamlin reported that the Miccosukee Resort Billy Ballew Motorsports Tundra was tight after the center of the exit in the corners prompting the team to bring him down pit road, under caution, on lap 32 while running in the fourth-place position.  The team took on trackbar adjustments and fuel.  Hamlin restarted in the fifth-place position on lap 38.

When the caution flag flew again on lap 52 Hamlin stayed out on the racetrack inheriting the lead on lap 55.  The 51 Miccosukee Resort Tundra team hoped to not have to pit again asking Hamlin to conserve fuel.

Hamlin led for a total of 62 laps when he called in to crew chief Doug George asking for fresh tires under the caution on lap 117.  Hamlin restarted in the 16th-place position on lap 119 and advanced to a sixth-place finish for the Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Camping World Truck Series team.

Hamlin’s sixth-place finish keeps Billy Ballew in the hunt for the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owners Points Series Championship.  Heading into the ‘final-four’ 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races Ballew is only 178-points behind the No. 33 truck owner Delana Harvick.  Kyle “Rowdy” Busch will be back to pilot the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports entry for those remaining races.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads next to the Talladega Superspeedway Saturday, October 31, 2009.
