Kyle “Rowdy” Busch and the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/Graceway Pharmaceuticals™ Toyota Tundra NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team posted a second-place finish Friday, November 13, 2009 at Phoenix International Raceway in the running of the Lucas Oil 150.

Busch placed the Billy Ballew Motorsports entry in the fourth-place position on the starting grid for the 150-lap race on the 1-mile Phoenix, Arizona short track.

Busch took the point position away on lap 14, holding the lead for 30-laps but was unable to regain the spot posting a second-place finish in the Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.  (more…)

Almirola 3rd at PIR

Aric Almirola and the No. 15 Graceway Pharmaceuticals™  / AKAwareness.com NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team posted a third-place finish Friday, November 13, 2009 at Phoenix International Raceway in the running of the Lucas Oil 150. 

Almirola placed the Billy Ballew Motorsports entry in the fifth-place position on the starting grid for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on the 1-mile Phoenix, Arizona track.  Almirola advanced through the field picking up the lead on lap 44 retaining the spot until lap 95 for a total 52 laps led in the 150-lap race at Phoenix International Raceway.  (more…)

Busch and Ballew Ready for Phoenix

4 51 Texas II I1640Kyle “Rowdy” Busch and the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort/ Graceway Pharmaceuticals™ Toyota Tundra team head to Phoenix International Raceway undefeated in the past five consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races that Busch has piloted the Billy Ballew Motorsports entry. 

The win at Texas Motor Speedway last week was Busch’s 16th-victory in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the teams’ 17th win.  This places Billy Ballew Motorsports 10th in all-time NASCAR Truck Series wins, fourth among active teams still competing.  Crew chief of the No. 51 Tundra, Richie Wauters is sixth on the list of all time crew chief wins and third among active crew chiefs. 

Billy Ballew Motorsports has 12-previous entries at Phoenix International Raceway posting one win (Busch 2007) and three top-10 finishes on the 1-mile oval racetrack. 

Busch has four previous Camping World Truck Series starts at the Avondale, Arizona racetrack.  The driving Phenom has posted one win, two top-five and three top-10 finishes and leading 157-laps in a race truck.  His lowest position in four starts came in 2005 in the 11th-place position.  Busch has nine NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts with one win and has eight Nationwide Series starts scoring two victories.

The Miccosukee Resort/ Graceway Pharmaceuticals™ team will bring chassis No. 28 which Busch last ran at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, starting second and winning the event.

The team now stands just 75-points behind the No. 33 owned by Kevin and Delana Harvick in 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owners Championship points going into the 24th race of the 25-race series schedule. 

The Lucus Oil 150 (150 laps, 150 miles) NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated to begin on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 8:00pm MT.    

SPEED will provide live televised NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying Friday, November 13, 2009 at 4:30pm ET.  Live race coverage begins at 7:30pm ET with MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio coverage beginning at 7:45pm ET.

Almirola has one previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start on the Avondale, Arizona track, one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and two Nationwide Series starts.

The 1-mile short track in is known for having two different sets of turns with the best handling truck off turn four as the typical winner.

“Phoenix is an awesome track,” Aric Almirola said! “It’s so unique compared to the other tracks we visit. Turns one and two are tight and turns three and four are sweeping. Phoenix is really a driver’s track. We need more tracks like Phoenix on our schedule and not so many a typical cookie cutter ovals we always race on.”
